The Trust

Navadisha Educational Trust was set up to promote the ideals of Montessori education. To work for the integrated development of children and to create a social awareness about the needs of young children are its primary objectives. To this end the Trust set up Navadisha Montessori School in 1997 and Navadisha Montessori Institute in 2004.

The two institutions are now located in our own premises, a well planned building with spacious, hexagonal shaped classrooms built to precise specifications on an acre of land in Velachery. To ensure that the students and staff of both Institutions find opportunity to develop, we recognise the need to continuously expand our work.

While we are convinced of the importance of raising the resources necessary to build further on this wonderful start we have made, we also know that it will be challenging task. To accomplish it, we need the wholehearted support of individuals and organisations seriously concerned about the future of our children.

"We ought to strive for the supreme result of producing men who will be happy; always keeping clearly before us the idea that the happy man is the one who may be spared the effort of thinking of himself, and dedicate all his energies to the unlimited progress of human society."
- Dr.Maria Montessori

Navadisha gratefully acknowledges the contribution of the late Anandhi Ramachandran (daughter of Kalki Krishnamurti ) whose vision gave shape and impetus to our work in the earliest stages
