FAQ

Q :
Do you help with job placements?
A :

We get many enquiries for teachers from schools every year. We bring these career opportunities to the attention of our students before the end of the course. Many of our alumni are in good teaching positions in schools all over the world, and are enjoying their work with children.

Q :
Can we have the email ID or phone numbers of students who have done the course?
A :

It is our policy not to share contact information of students enrolled on the course. We will set a date for a student meeting before the course begins and invite registered students to meet socially.

Q :
Could you help students from out of town to find accommodation nearby?
A :

We keep a list of all current leads for accommodation we come across. We also keep a list of hostels that are nearby on file. You could refer to to the Student Information File at the Centre and make note of any current contact information. It is better to look for accomodation in person. We advise you not to transact over the internet in this matter. We will try and help with making word of mouth enquiries and with translation when required. We advise all students from out of town to arrive early and to give themselves plenty of time.

Q :
What are your office hours?
A :

The office hours of Navadisha Montessori Foundation are 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Please visit the Location page for detailed information on how to contact us. We take phone calls only during office hours. After office hours you can send us an email or an SMS. To find out more about the courses we offer do fill out and submit the course enquiry form on Courses Offered page.

Q :
What are attested or certified copies of educational documents?
A :

The photocopy of each educational document that you submit to us along with your application must have the signature and official seal of a government official, notary public, gazetted officer, bank manager, or the head of a recognised educational institution. They sign in this way to confirm that they have seen your original document and can verify that it is a true copy.

Q :
Would a foreign national in India need to open a savings Bank Account in Chennai? How could this be done?
A :

You can open a bank account here. It takes time and patience. Students have used HSBC in the past. You can also use Bank of India where the school has an account. You will need a letter from us confirming that you are a local student and proof of your local address. Alternately you can bring an international debit card with you. You can then draw money from local ATMs from your account at home.  They sometimes charge Rs. 200/- per transaction.  There is a daily limit of Rs. 10,000/- for withdrawal. Many of our students prefer this option.

Q :
Where can I buy the recommended books?
A :

The Indian Montessori Foundation publishes the required and recommended Montessori books on the list. We can organise purchase of the books through our office once the course starts. Students enrolled on an AMI trained course in India will get a discount.

Q :
Do I need computer skills to do the course?
A :

An email ID is a must. It is a convenient way for us to be able to reach you before and during the course. During the course we will send out course hand outs and study materials by email. Some of the course assignments must also be submitted by email.
